Mechatronics manufacturer VINCORION has received an order to supply 40 chassis kits for the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) missile and air defense system’s Enhanced Launcher Electronics System (ELES).
The company was awarded the contract by the US manufacturer Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control headquartered in Grand Prairie, Texas. The order has a total value of approximately 8.4 million euros and represents an extension of an order the company received in 2019. As a result, the total order value has increased to approximately 17.4 million euros. Delivery is scheduled to begin in June 2021.

Enhanced Launcher Electronics System a Key Component of the PAC-3 System
The PAC-3 system is a technological upgrade to the ground-based Patriot missile and air defense system, which is used around the world to defend against aircraft, cruise missiles, and tactical ballistic missiles.
The current configuration allows the use of 16 instead of the original four missiles – effectively quadrupling the firepower. In addition, the missiles feature greater agility as well as greater accuracy due to being equipped with a radar homing head. This advancement is a prerequisite for effectively intercepting cruise missiles and tactical ballistic missiles. A key part of the upgrade is the Enhanced Launcher Electronics System.
VINCORION has been supplying the ELES kits for the PAC-3 system since 1999, initially as a subcontractor of Daimler Chrysler Aerospace and then of MBDA/GLVS. The company has been a first-tier supplier to Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control since 2012.

The mechatronics manufacturer VINCORION has received an order to supply spare parts for the Patriot™ air and missile defense system’s power supply. The total order has a value of approximately ten million euros.
The order was placed by Raytheon Missiles and Defense, a division of Raytheon Technologies via the US division of Jenoptik Advanced Systems. The order encompasses the supply of spare parts, in particular for the diesel engines used in the Patriot system’s EPP, EPU, and launcher gensets. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2020. The aim is to complete deliveries by the end of the first quarter of 2021.

VINCORION: 4-Star Supplier to Raytheon Technologies
The Jenoptik Technology Group has consolidated its mechatronics expertise under the brand name VINCORION since 2018. The company is one of 86 suppliers worldwide that have been awarded the 4-star seal by Raytheon Technologies on the basis of fixed criteria such as product quality and delivery punctuality.
The gensets that supply power to the Patriot air defense system were originally developed by VINCORION in the 1980s, initially for use by the German Air Force, and have since been adopted by twelve of the 17 countries that use Patriot systems. The system will continue to be enhanced and operated over the next three decades.
